يعتبر السماق من المنكهات الفلسطيني المميزة بمذاقها الحامضي، و الذي قد يكون بديلا عن الليمون، ويعتبر السماق من التوابل التي تضاف الى العديد من الاطباق بهدف اثراء نكهتها او للزينة، و يضاف السماق الى خليط الزعتر فيكسبه مذاقا مميزا.
